Side-flip
The Sideflip is one of the basic flips of Freerunning
Side-flip FAQ:
- What is the most effective step into the side-flip?
Both departures are effective but for a greater height I opt for taking off two feet.
- After I go straight, I have a crooked landing?
This can happen when pulling the hand in front of your body and not sideways.
Hand can direct the rotation. For the side-flip you have to pull your hand toward the ribs, not in front of the body.
- I’m afraid to try, what to do?
There is no better remedy for fear, than the workout itself. If you are familiar with all the steps above, repeat them excessively, so that the brain will understand that you will handle it.
- I do not get enough height and land on my knees, why?
If you start with your head close to your chest, you will not be able to get high because you already gave your body a command to rotate. Even so, if you pull up (from the waist) strongly, then you will not have trouble landing because this trick can be performed with speed alone, which simplifies things.
- I do not understand what you meant when you said to pull your feet?
The body, when it begins a trick, is stiff as a board in departure, rotation and landing because it is considered a whole. If, in the air, you pull up your legs, gravity will give you a boost in the rotation speed, meaning that you will land faster.
